James E. (Jim) Sawyer holds a PhD in economics from the University of Utah and has held academic appointments at West Virginia, Oregon State and Seattle Universities, Fulbright Fellowships in France and Portugal, a joint appointment with French Universite du Littoral Cote d’ Opale, and a Visiting Scholar appointment with the Nord Pas de Calais Regional Council.
In the United States, Jim held administrative and academic appointments including an endowed chair, served as advisor to a Utah Governor, taught graduate courses in finance, economic theory and organization theory, and undergraduate courses in political economy, organization leadership and civic engagement.
In Colorado, Jim produced public affairs radio programming. He writes extensively on topics related to economic doctrines, ethics, civics, moral development, and theology. He is published in France, Belgium, the United States, and Great Britain where Jim was represented in a macroeconomic paradigm challenge by the London publisher (Macmillan) that represented JM Keynes in JMK’s doctrinal challenge to conventional theories about the causes and consequences of the Great Depression.
Jim serves on the Board of World Wisdoms Project aka Northern Colorado Theologian in Residence Project. He is emeritus from Seattle University.
